Hi. I built this because nobody handed me a manual.

Welcome to Grief Girl. This is the corner of the internet where we talk about the stuff that actually matters after a loss. The messy, quiet, loud, and confusing parts that textbooks usually leave out. I started this space to offer what I was looking for: honesty and genuine community.

My Story

My connection to grief began when my father died suddenly when I was only 10 years old. Because I was so young, many of my memories surrounding his death and that period of my life are incomplete or blurred.

Years later, I experienced another devastating loss when my younger sister, Alana, died suddenly at only 26 years old. Losing her without warning while we were on vacation together completely changed my life. It brought back the trauma of losing my father and forced me to experience sudden loss again as an adult.

The Grief Girl comes from living through both experiences. It is not meant to provide therapy or pretend that grief can be fixed. Its purpose is to help grieving people feel understood, less isolated, and less “crazy” for experiencing the difficult, messy, and sometimes contradictory realities of loss.
